Dance Society LJMU is a leading dance institute in the UK so it’s only fitting that there is a dance society. The dance society welcomes everyone, whether they have experience in dance or not. The society has classes in ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap and Hip-Hop. The dance society regularly competes in competitions. It’s a great form of exercise and society to ensure that great friendships are made along the way.
St Johns Ambulance The St Johns Ambulance society allows members to increase their first aid knowledge. The society holds regular meetings that provide great training opportunities and chances to meet new people. Additional training from St Johns Ambulance provides greater opportunities including chances to work at festivals and football matches at Anfield and Goodison.
Jets Cheerleading Society The Jets Cheerleading Society currently have around 30 members and are always looking for more both female and male. The Jets train on a weekly basis every Thursday night and Sunday morning. To join the cheerleading team, you need no experience. So if your motivated and looking to join a fun-filled society consider joining the Jets, cheerleading team.
LJMU Hockey Club There are currently 3 hockey teams for Liverpool John Moore’s. Every Wednesday night the club hold socials. Students of all abilities are encouraged to join and full training is provided to new members. Training is every Monday. If you are looking to become fitter and be part of an enthusiastic team, then the Hockey Club may interest you.
Zumba Club Anyone that has participated in Zumba will know just how fun and challenging it can be. With a variety of high-intensity dances and dance moves you really will leave a session feeling exhausted but not without having the most fun. Zumba class gives you the chance to meet many new people and once you start going you’ll not want to stop. Zumba classes take place every Thursday in the Activity Space in LJMU John Foster Building.
Events Management The events management club run socials throughout the academic year. They help members organise and run any events they may be running through university. The society recognises the work its members do by holding an awards ceremony to present hard-working, motivated members with the prizes they deserve. If you enjoy attending great social events, then consider the events management society and you never know you could end up organising your own event.
Swim Team If you are a keen swimmer or just willing to learn then you might consider joining the swim team. The swim team offer training to those with a willingness to learn to swim. The team meet at Everton Park Lifestyles on Great Homer Street on Mondays and Wednesdays. The team organise a variety of social night outs with fancy dress themes that really get everyone talking and meeting new people.
Gymnastics The LJMU gymnastics club is fun-filled and run by friendly enthusiastic people. Gymnastics training is provided so anyone can become a member. The socials organised by the club allow everyone to get to know everyone and meet new friends for life. Training helps develop a range of different skills in a person. Training takes place weekly on Mondays and Thursdays.
Netball LJMU Netball team is a reputable club of the University. Anyone can join as full training by great coaches is provided. Training occurs every Monday and socials take place on Wednesday to allow everyone to get to know each other better and help form life-long friendships. Competitions take place throughout the year however it’s not necessary to participate you can still become a member to enjoy the sport as a hobby.
